Orleans Yoga is hosting it’s first 108 Sun Salutation Challenge. Traditionally this ritual is done at the turning of each season or done for celebration or coming together to support a cause or purpose. We are doing 108 Sun Salutations to RAISE Funds and/or Food for the Orleans /Cumberland Food Bank.

HOW MANY SUN SALUTATIONS CAN YOU DO ????????
Karma Yoga is the Yoga of Action.
It is the path chosen primarily by those of an outgoing nature.
It purifies the heart by teaching you to act selflessly, without thought of gain or reward .
Sun salutations, or Surya Namaskara, are a series of 12 basic yoga postures that flow together in coordination with the breath. Most forms of yoga include some variation of this sequence in their practices, thus making them a common ground for practitioners of different styles.
In the same way that the postures flow together in sequence, the Yogathon participants practicing them will flow together for part of or 3 consecutive hours. Experienced teachers and practitioners will be available to teach anyone who is interested how to do sun salutations in an appropriate way for their experience and fitness levels.
